Trip back home

The first week in September we went back home for a visit. We had a wonderful time visiting with family and friends. We arrived Wednesday, September 2 in the afternoon; we met up with Brandon, Jill, and Kemper for lunch at the Staggering Ox for lunch. After lunch we all went to the Reservoir so the guys could go snagging, the weather was a hot 96+ degrees, the guys decide later in the afternoon that they need something to drink, not a smart thing to do in the heat. Ty ended up getting heatstroke the next day. So, while everyone else went to the Carousel and Taco Treat for lunch, Ty was at his parents’ house sick. Friday, I spend the day with my mom; we had a wonderful time just hanging out with each other doing nothing. We met up the rest of the group for lunch at our favorite place Jade Garden. After lunch my mom and I walked around Target and Macy's. Friday evening Ty and I went to Townsend to watch my sister cheer at the Townsend football game. Saturday, we went to Missoula to see Grandma Betty and to hang out with Brandon, Jill, and Kemper a little longer. After visiting with Grandma Betty, Uncle Gary, Kevin, and his 2 girls we went to lunch and then to the Big Sky Brewery Company. After Brandon, Jill, and Kemper left us, Ty and I went to the Griz game to see the new stadium and to purchase some Griz gear. Back in Helena, we went to my Uncle Daryl's retirement party at the Little Red School house, where we got to see more family and friends that I know if there was not a family event I would have never got to see. It was really great to see everyone again. You never know what you are missing until you see them and notice that life is flying by so fast and everyone is getting older. We left Sunday morning and drove back to reality, it was a long driver back, it took us about 14 hours, and normally it is 12 t 13.

It has been 1 year

The weekend of our Anniversary August 8th, Ty and I went to the twin cities to get away. While we were there we drove around downtown Minneapolis, we saw the new and old Minnesota Twins stadiums and the old stadium is now the Vikings stadium.

We also went to the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden, where we saw the Cherry and the Spoon Sculpture (Spoonbridge and Cherry). I attached photos of the other sculptures that we saw in the garden as well. The afternoon was beautiful, the sun was out and warm, not like the rainy, cold morning.

That evening we went to an exquisite restaurant, Fogo de Chão (fo-go dèe shoun), an authentic Brazilian steakhouse. They grill 15 cuts of meat and offer you continuous tableside service, you flip this card over that looks like a coaster to tell the severs when you are ready for more meat or not; one side is red meaning stop no thank you and the other side is green meaning please bring me more meat. Besides those 15 cuts of meat, they have a wonderful salad bar.
To finish our weekend off we went to Ikea and The Mall of America. After walking the mall for awhile we started our trip home.

We enjoyed our weekend, and cannot believe that we have been married for 1 year, time flies when you are having fun. We are looking forward to many years to come.

Day together, July 12, 2009

Ty and I had a great day today. We got up this morning and decide to go for a Sunday drive. We decide to go northeast; we ended up in 2 locations; the first one Akeley and the second stop Walker. Akeley is known as the birthplace of Paul Bunyan. We stopped and took some pictures with the big guy himself. We headed up to Walker, where we ate lunch at a little pizzeria. After lunch we walked the main street and looked at the little shops. After enjoying what the locals had to offer us we drove over and saw the lighthouse at Leech Lake.

We had a wonderful day together. Life is way too short not to enjoy these moments together.

We Survived the Fourth

We hope everyone’s Fourth of July went well. Ty and I had to work in the morning, after work we went over to our friends (Chad and Laura) house, were we had a bbq. We hung out until it was time to go down to the Big Detroit Lake to watch the firework show at 10:30 pm. It was an adventure to get to the lake, there was so many people we had to park 1/2 mile away. The police force of Detroit Lakes had several blocks blocked off.

The firework show was okay, for the price they paid, it was pretty sad. The firework show probably lasted at least 15 minutes. I posted some of the pictures that sort of turned out.

It has been awhile since I got on to our blog and on top of that I have not told a single soul that we have this. We are Awesome!!


Several things have changed since the last time I wrote, the number 1 change in my life is that I now have a new job. I work for a company called Arvig Communication Systems (ACS); they are a cable, internet, and phone service company for Western Minnesota. This company is an employee owned company, it has never changed ownership. ACS is very good to their employees, great benefits and wages. I work in their Human Resource Department my title is Human Resources II, this is 1 level above the position I had at my past job in Detroit Lakes. ACS cooperate head quarters (where I am located) is in Perham, it is 20 miles east of Detroit Lakes.


Another thing that has changed in our life is we now are involved in Send Out Cards (SOC); SOC is a concept and service that is changing people's lives.

You can send a printed greeting card with your message in Less than 60 Seconds. From an online website. How it works is:

• Write your message

• Click send Send Out Cards prints it, stuffs it and mails it, all for less than a greeting card at the store. All you pay is the postage and the price of the card; everything is less than $1.00. You cannot buy a $0.49 card and mail it or hand deliver it to someone cheaper.

Everyone loves receiving something personal in the mail, so show someone you care and send them a card on us.

I have found out that no matter how much I like the idea of blogging, I am just not any good at it. I started our blog page several weeks ago and still have not posted anything, and for that matter I have not told anyone about our page. So, here is my goal, I want to write at least once every 2 weeks.

Ty, Robin, Cris, and I just recently got back from Cozumel, Mexico. We were down there for 1 week; it was Ty and my honeymoon with guests. I am really glad Robin and Cris came with us, on the third day Ty got really really sick, he bonded with the porcelain god and the hotel bed for the remainder of the trip.

Here we are

We decided that this would be a better way to share what is going on in our life and to share our pictures, than our myspace account. Ty and I are going to Cozumel for our honeymoon March 19. We are very excited to get out of this cold weather and ready to see the sun and get some color. We will be gone for 6 six days and 5 nights, we are staying at El Cozumeleño Beach Resort (website link) an all inclusive resort. Besides our trip we are going on, we have done nothing exciting, it is to cold to do anything.
